Stone Construction.

When any new member joins this crew, they are taught that a stone staircase, properly built, will long outlive its builder. This is the standard to which we hold ourselves in all of our stone reconstruction work. We specialize in native and found-stone staircases, drainage structures, turnpiking, and water crossings. When completed, the structures we create are enduringly beautiful, look at home in our New England forests, and are a generational investment in the sustainability of your trails.

We offer more than 30 combined years of backcountry masonry and stonecraft experience, and specialize in highly technical projects in inaccessible locations. We use rigging systems to move stone with minimal impact to the project site. We split and shape stone to exact specifications, and use crush, pin, set-behind, and traditional cone setting techniques. The majority of the setting and finishing work on a project is done with simple hand tools and masterful hands.
